Are you an experienced bookkeeper/accountant who’s looking to join a growing practice in Peterborough? We’re looking for someone with a passion for customer service and a real eye for detail.
You’ll be working with a wide range of clients on all aspects of bookkeeping work - every day will be different and you’ll get the opportunity to take responsibility for some of our busiest clients.
We are IAB/ICB bookkeeping practise based in Peterborough and we are looking for a part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant.
Lukro Ltd is providing online bookkeeping, payroll and accounting services for customers based in UK.
Job type: part-time, permanent, with an option for more hours later if required
Working hours: Flexible – 10 hours per week, between 12:30 – 17:00
Mostly office-based, with options for remote working as required.
We can make arrangements regarding working hours, and some bookkeeping tasks on Xero can be performed remotely even after 5:00 PM
Salary: £12.00 – £16.00 per hour (depending on experience)
This job role can also be ideal for someone who is looking for a second additional job
Main responsibilities:
· Support with bookkeeping and accounting tasks; keeping purchase and sales ledgers up to date and data/invoice entry
· Journal entries
· Bank reconciliation and VAT returns
· General administration
· Liaison with HMRC
· Use of Xero and other digital accounting software
· Liaising with clients on the phone and face-to-face
· Assisting clients in the absence of a manager/supervisor and where possible, answering or relaying appropriate queries.
· Occasional travel to customer
Person Specification:
· Must have relevant bookkeeping/accounting qualification plus a minimum 2 – 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience with a range of different companies
· Have a working knowledge of accounting software: Xero knowledge is essential; experience on other software is desirable.
· Good knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word
· Capable of producing good oral and written communications
· Willing to accept ownership and responsibility for allocated tasks, with a good attitude to work and willing to support all members of the team
· Open-minded, innovative, focused on continuous improvement for the business and themselves
· Fast and accurate data entry skills with a keen eye for detail; able to work unsupervised when required
· Polite, professional and discreet, with high standards of customer service, especially over the telephone
· Being punctual – ready to start work in accordance with the office opening time.
· Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task
