Job Description

Saving Pets, Changing Lives

Are you looking for flexible ways to work while also maintaining your skills and competence? Do you have some spare time to help support those pets and clients most in need?

We are always looking for registered veterinary surgeons to work in a locum capacity. This may be for a day or a couple of weeks or up to 3 months and we are also happy to plan for longer periods.

So, why join our locum bank? John Faulkner, Principal of Regional Vet Services, explains why we are different;

“We are passionate about what we do and supporting our Pet Hospital teams during the pandemic is our top priority as a senior team. Safety and well-being are critical to us and we are doing everything we can to keep clients and colleagues safe in these challenging times. Our pet hospitals are just as busy as always and we’ve had to find new ways of working; our vets are still managing a varied diagnostic and surgical caseload, alongside consults at the pet hospital and remotely from home. By joining our Bank, you will be making a real difference to pets in need.”

The benefits of working for PDSA as a locum include;

  • Working in a covid safe environment where your safety is our top priority
  • Support for both your physical and mental well being
  • Working for one of the Sunday Times Top 100 Not for Profit Organisations
  • Complete flexibility for you and us in how many or how few shifts you cover
  • Managing a varied and interesting caseload
  • Contributing to the work of the UK’s leading veterinary charity

So, if you want to join an amazing team and make a real difference to clients and their pets, we would love to hear from you. To apply or find out more, email your CV and cover note to Maria Williams at williams.maria@pdsa.org.uk.

PDSA is committed to embedding a culture of diversity and inclusion within our teams that reflect the communities we serve. We aim to create a working environment in which all individuals are able to make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit. We offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies and opportunity for flexible working arrangements to support team members from different backgrounds.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessibility, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss via email or telephone reasonable adjustments that you may require throughout the recruitment process.
