Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Central London
Up to £60,000 plus benefits

My client is a leading building services consultancy firm based in London, providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering services to a range of clients in the construction industry. They have a strong reputation for delivering innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Their London office, your responsibilities would include:
  • Leading the design of mechanical systems for buildings, such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Managing projects from inception to completion, including liaising with clients, architects, and other design team members
  • Developing and mentoring junior engineers and technicians
  • Preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Ensuring that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
  • Conducting site surveys and inspections to gather data and assess existing systems
  • Providing technical guidance and support to other team members.

You would work on a variety of projects, ranging from small-scale refurbishments to large new-build developments. Examples of recent projects undertaken include:
  • The design of the mechanical and electrical systems for a new mixed-use development in central London, including sustainable features such as a combined heat and power (CHP) plant and rainwater harvesting.
  • The refurbishment of a historic listed building to provide modern office accommodation, including the design of a new HVAC system and building management system (BMS)
  • The design of the mechanical and electrical systems for a new research and development facility for a leading pharmaceutical company.
