PQ Management Accountant - Retail

Salary: Up to £30000 per annum

ABOUT THE ROLE

Adele Carr Financial Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a local, growing, SME organisation in Liverpool who are keen to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant into their retail team.

Due to increased sales and business growth, this newly created role will bring much needed support to performance management team and ensure that controls, processes and flow of financial information is accurate and effective.

This is a diverse role requiring an accountant with a proven, SME background, who can adapt to various workloads and get tasks done. The right candidate will report into the Finance Manager.

The ideal applicant will be a solid all-rounder who is qualified by experience, (AAT qualified or equivalent). You will be a conscientious worker and a great team player, who is confident working with various stakeholders including UK MD / Owner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for delivering weekly financial data and reporting in line with the needs of the business

Preparing month end accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet reconciliations, VAT returns and inter-company reporting

Producing month end and year end journals

Contributing to annual budgeting and planning process

Ensuring compliance with all financial regulations

Reviewing accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations

Managing forecasts to assist business planning and decision-making

Weekly invoice accuracy checking in respect of payment runs

Supporting with internal and external audit request

EXPERIENCE

Ability to work well under pressure and meet reporting deadlines

Strong communication skills, analytic skills and organisational skills

A good team player with the skills to manage, develop and implement new working practices and systems

Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the business

Keen eye for detail and provide accurate information

Works effectively by tackling immediate demands decisively, whilst retaining a broad awareness of emerging requirements

Demonstrates a good sense of priorities, structures workload effectively and delivers consistently good results

Advanced Excel required, confident in working with large data sets

Strong general IT skills and MS Office

QUALIFICATIONS

Studying towards a professional accounting qualification, either CIMA or ACCA

Salary and benefits:
Remuneration: Circa £30K Dependent upon candidate experience

Core hours: 40 hours Monday-Friday

Pension: Defined Contribution, after successful probation period, 3% Employer and 5% Employee

Annual leave: 25 days + bank holidays

Probation period: 3 months

Notice period: 3 months
