About You
Would you consider yourself a confident people-person with a keen eye for detail? As a Weighbridge Operator and Administration Support at our Thirsk transfer site, you will be responsible for weighing and measuring vehicles and containers, while accurately recording information onto our database.
Confident and happy to interact with customers and visitors, you will often be the first point of contact to anyone visiting our sites. You will take pride in your work with great attention to detail, wanting to provide a helpful, safe and positive experience for our customers and team.
Passionate for creating a great customer experience, your working day will be varied, rewarding and important within our local community. Drawing on administrative skills using Microsoft Word and Excel, you demonstrate great attention to detail when processing and entering data into our computer databases. It would be desirable if you have experience using a system such as PurGo, however we are happy to provide dedicated training to the right candidate.

What we can offer
In return, we are offering an hourly rate of £11.98 per hour, equivalent to a salary of £24,918.40 per year. We offer extra allowance for working Sundays and Bank Holidays, and there may be opportunity for additional hours. We can offer 20 days’ holiday per year, plus bank holidays, increasing to 25 days’ with 5 years continuing employment.
This is a permanent role working full-time, including some weekends and bank holidays. Therefore availability over this schedule is important. Working at our Thirsk Waste Transfer Station, you may be required to cover holiday, sickness and illness on other nearby sites, therefore holding a driver’s licence and having access to personal transport is an advantage.
