Job description:
We are ideally looking for someone who lives close to Cotgrave, to join our small woodyard team. Your role will involve preparing and checking online orders, loading, and unloading deliveries, assisting customers, monitoring stock, and making sure that the yard is kept to a high standard. It will involve an element of manual handling as well as using forklift and banding equipment. It is largely an outside job, so you should be comfortable working in the rain and cold, as well as in the sunshine. There is always a variety of jobs to do, including the maintenance of the site, so it is important that the candidate is multi-talented, hard-working and can use their initiative.

Ideally a local person with experience of working for a timber or builder’s merchant in an open yard or warehouse. A counterbalance forklift training license is essential to perform this role, together with a clean driving license, and experience of driving with a trailer, as you may be required to deliver orders from time to time. You will need experience of communicating with customers, helping them plan their projects, knowledge of timber and landscaping, and being articulate, positive, and friendly. Attention to detail is important, and so reading, writing and numeracy is essential.
Hours:
Approx. 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday (9.00-5.00) and alternate Saturday mornings (9.00-12.30).
