Service and Calibration Engineer required for a manufacturer within controls testing, who are based in Tring, Hertfordshire.

The role is open to candidates who are located across the UK.

The service and calibration engineer position require extensive travel in the UK, covering north of Birmingham and also up to Scotland and Ireland, with regular overnight stay. The majority of the work will be based in and around Birmingham.

Service and Calibration Engineer Position Overview

• Provide on-site and remote installation, commissioning, repair, calibration and training for the Company's range of products.
• Work for the Company's customer base in UK and Ireland, as well as foreign markets under the Company's responsibility (e.g. Sub-Saharan Africa).
• Support other Controls Companies in providing technical support, as determined by the Global Service Manager of Controls HQ in Italy.
• Verification and certification of machines under the ACCREDIA LAT N.092 of Controls (LAT) for Force and Stability.
• Installation of the equipment.
• Training on basic operation of equipment.
• Preventive maintenance, reparations, and other type of verification.
• Upgrades of machines.
• Other technical services as required.
• Report to the Branch Service Manager for the activities related to the Company's customers within the UK, Ireland and Africa, and for other activities for other Group Companies to the Global Service Manager in Italy

Service and Calibration Engineer Position Requirements

• Understanding of calibration methods and quality systems/standards.
• Capability of being able to think on their feet.
• Ability to learn both supervised and unsupervised.
• Relevant engineering qualification or experience (e.g. HNC, degree or equivalent).
• Experience of travelling alone or in small groups.
• Good standard of both written and spoken English.
• Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite especially Excel.
• Physically fit, as some heavy lifting will be required.

Service and Calibration Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary - £37,000 to £45,000.
• Full time position - extensive UK travel and overnight stays.
• Holiday package - 22 days plus the national bank holidays.
