Merck Summer Student Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for students join our Merck Contract Testing Services business in the UK for 3 months over the summer. Students will work with Merck teams across different parts of the business, gaining meaningful industry experience.

Summer students will get the opportunity to undertake meaningful work whilst collaborating with Merck colleagues across various departments. The students will learn on the job, developing practical skills and personal competencies, building relationships with colleagues across our business.

Your Role:

You will work alongside our Sample Management team under the guidance of the department supervisor at our Glasgow site. You will learn about temperature controlled environments, electronic inventory systems and different sample types as part of the role. The primary responsibility will involve working on a Global project to support the execution of a system inventory cleanse. The project remit will include but not be limited to updating sample locations within the laboratory information management system (LIMS), data entry to track progress and targets and communicating updates to a wider project team.

Who You Are:

  • HNC/HND/Degree Student, or recent graduate in relevant subject looking for work experience

  • Proactive & organised

  • Strong communicator and collaborative

  • Effective working as part of a team

  • Computer literate with excellent data entry skills

  • Detail orientated and outcome focused
