We are looking for an exceptional candidate with significant post qualification experience in financial management with a good knowledge of local government and the issues it faces. This is an exciting opportunity that requires a dynamic and forward thinking member of staff to lead a small team in providing financial support and advice to senior managers across Adult Services to enable effective decision-making in line with the council's financial strategy. The successful candidate must have the ability to lead, motivate and manage the performance of others and an innovative approach to problem solving. It is a fast paced role working with people at all levels within the organisation, particularly health colleagues, so the ability to make measured decisions under pressure and prioritise, delegate and communicate effectively is essential.
You will lead a team of 12 staff within the Adults Team that is part of the wider Financial Management (Operational) service. The team are responsible for the production and monitoring of the services revenue budget and medium term financial strategy and also undertake a key role in the closure of accounts, completion of various statutory financial returns and in ensuring that the integrity of core financial information is maintained.
