Production Operative Days - Martock - £21,421.40
My client is the UKs number one manufacturer, in their sector, of mechanical products for the automotive and care industries. They are now looking to recruit a full time, permanent Production Operative / CNC Operator for their site in the heart of Somerset. This company very much has a 'family' culture, offers an excellent benefits package and has a low staff turnover with many staff being with the company for a number of years.
Job Purpose and Reporting
The Production Operative in this area builds/assembles floors to a very high standard and runs a CNC machine. The manufacturing function meets customer demands and quality targets, and ensures the delivery of completed works orders ready for despatch in the correct quantities and quality.The Production Operative reports directly to the Process Leader
.Responsibilities
- Cut and assemble floors to drawings and templates
- Operate a CNC machine
- Actively check all components for good quality
- Regularly undertake multi-skilling training
- Improve productivity and efficiency through recommending change in working methods and tooling
- Participate in team building activities and have involvement in decision making
- Train and multi-skill other production operatives
- Ensure quality and process conformance
- Actively participate in team or project based activities where required
- Maintain consistent 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardise and Stick) and housekeeping standards within the manufacturing areas
Person Specification
- An appropriate level of education.
- CNC experience is desirable but not essential
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability after training to work satisfactorily with minimum supervision
- Ability after training to follow work instruction drawings
