We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Operator to join a great team of people and make a difference within a supportive and values-led Organisation.

R100 Energy, a food waste processing plant located at Spaldington, East Riding of Yorkshire using the process of Anaerobic Digestion to create energy and capable of producing 10MW energy generation. The process of Anaerobic Digestion utilises this to create methane, which in turn is used to generate electricity that is 100% renewable and exported to the national grid.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern on nights, 6pm to 6am, the Process Operator is responsible for the safety and compliance of operational maintenance of plant equipment by smooth operation of the plant.

The general night shift activities include:

· Undertake general fault finding, defect rectification and maintenance tasks

· Adherence to safe working practices

· Receive incoming waste to site, acting as banksman for reversing vehicles and assessing vehicle and load suitability through checking of appropriate paperwork

· To manage the cleanliness of the tanker point and overall site

· Running of the Smicon separator and associated Dolavs

· Running, optimisation, fault rectification of the oil separation equipment

· Any other duties which are assigned by the Plant Manager

Key Areas of Responsibility being:

· Smooth and continual operation of the oil separator plant including scheduled minor maintenance

· Receiving and processing waste vehicles that includes inspection and checking of paperwork

· Review loads that arrive with a view of acceptance before paperwork is signed and when vehicles are to leave site. (If unsure, ask)

· Contain and clear any spillages on site in an efficient and safe manner when required

· Maintain site cleanliness at all times including the tanker point

· Ensure vehicles leave the site to the required hygiene standard

· Replenishment of consumables such as ferric chloride IBCs, antifoam and additives

· Daily & weekly clean down and simple maintenance processes are conducted and logged (if required) on the specified paperwork

· Workplace organisation & housekeeping around the site

· Ensuring provisions are in place to allow adherence of animal health & environment agency requirements (i.e. footbaths always in operation, no food waste is spilt outside the bunded area, litter is collected

· To maintain equipment effectively including greasing, routine maintenance checks. To ensure any equipment defects or lack of resources are reported to the Engineering Team

· Completing daily operational log checks and relevant documentation

· Ensuring daily mechanical handling equipment checks on all vehicles and equipment where necessary

· Ensuring the waste generated from site goes into the correct waste stream for the skip movements

· Run the digestate screening operation as required i.e., changing dolav’s/starting & stopping the Smicon

· Achieve acceptable levels of materials processed, based on the waste delivered and daily KPI’s for the plant by operating the HMI

· Report any issues, shortages and problems to the correct lead

· Adhere to the site Health & Safety policy in all work activities

· Undertake any course of instruction necessary to obtain or maintain the required skill level for this role

· Ensuring that time keeping, and punctuality is maintained at an acceptable level

To undertake such other activities as may reasonably be required from time to time and which are within the competency of the job holder.

Working times are 6pm to 6am, with an initial training period being on a day time shift
