Hours: full time 37.5 hours per week (part-time considered)
Salary Range: £21,500 - £25,000 per year depending on experience

The job role requires a positive attitude towards HIV and other sexual health issues. You will be working with a diverse range of individuals and will have the experience and the skills needed to work effectively with people from a range of backgrounds. Ideally, you will also be experienced (or prepared to undertake training) in group work; this could be holding workshops, delivering training or engaging in activities with groups that promote social inclusion and improved self management.

Job Overview
Working as a member of the Support Team you will provide a day-to-day proactive service to individuals and groups to support their capacity to manage their HIV and help them access a range of appropriate services provided by other organisations.
Duties:
Your main duties as a HIV Link Worker will include:
· HIV outreach and support: proactively engage people living with HIV in programmes which are designed to help them to be active participants in managing their condition; this will include behaviour change interventions and will incorporate one to one case work and group work
· Active engagement with a range of partner organisations which will include clinics and adult social care along with voluntary sector agencies involved in support and advocacy
· Sexual Health promotion: to take part in the design and delivery of evidence-based public health campaigns aimed at improving sexual health, including access to PEP/Prep, condom use, U=U, and appropriate testing options
· Support the development of and deliver against the contract work-plan and contracted KPIs
Develop and maintain effective, mutually beneficial relationships with partner agencies, actively engage with networking opportunities and facilitating increased awareness of the work of the charity
Candidate Requirements
As HIV Link Worker you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:
· Experience working with members of marginalised groups and/or individuals with multiple and complex needs
· Positive attitude towards HIV and sexual health issues
· Ability to undertake comprehensive assessments and to create plans with people living with HIV to effectively manage their condition
· Experience of reaching, working face to face and digitally with target groups who experience health inequalities and who are most at risk of poor sexual health in local communities
· Excellent written and communication skills with an attention to detail and a commitment to effective record keeping
· Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and to determine priorities
· Strong interpersonal skills and professional attitude
· Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships and build partnerships with a wide range of people and organisations
· Excellent administrative, organisational, and time-management skills
· Excellent knowledge of software packages, in particular Microsoft Office
· Ability to self-motivate, manage own diary and lone work.
Please note: Ideally, candidates will have a driving licence and access to a vehicle as this post requires regular travel, locally and regionally and you will need to be able to get to places that are not well served by public transport
