EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Working within our Security team, the Design Engineer will play a key role in the design aspects of project delivery. You will be focusing on improving the electronic and physical security of assets across the Severn Trent estate. The role will involve working on projects through the feasibility, optioneering and design stages, as well as supporting commissioning, witness testing, handover, and project closure.

Your key accountabilities will be:

• 
  Carry out surveys, Identify and develop solutions to meet Security requirements.
• The collation and production of project information and documentation.
• Monitor projects and support the delivery team where required.
• Create design detail and scoping documentation in line with standards.
• Scoping of and review of site surveys.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and agree design solutions.
• Design safely, with a clear understanding of CDM regulations.
• Supporting with site inspections, audits, tender documentation, and quality checks on large scale investment projects.
• Supporting with the commissioning and testing activity.
• Collaboratively liaise with colleagues, clients, suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to support the delivery of projects during the construction phase.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Ideally HNC qualified in a technical engineering discipline and experienced in Electronic or Physical Security design and installation.

You will have strong collaboration and communication skills and a strong ability to build successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds.

You will require Security Clearance (SC level) to undertake this role; we will support you with this if required, upon successful appointment to the role. This role will require a full UK driving licence.
