We're looking for a Senior Commercial Partner to join our Procurement team here at M&S.

The Procurement team are a key part of this transformation program, and we would like to meet people with experience of negotiations who can help us deliver large scale cost reduction at pace.
The Logistics area is pivotal to the success of M&S, so we are looking for someone who has a detailed knowledge of the international imports (Ocean Freight, Airfreight and International Road Freight) marketplace and who is confident delivering commercial solutions to senior partners.
Key accountabilities:
Build meaningful and close relationships; coaching business leaders on commercial strategy and contractual solutions, including SLA’s and contractual remedies
Be a procurement business partner to operations – able to challenge, guide and support partners and suppliers to deliver more for our customers
Drive commercial change within the business to deliver value and ensuring there is always a balance between cost and service.
Identification of continuous improvement opportunities and driving the operational teams to improve and change
Use your highly-developed category knowledge, innovation and opportunity to deliver commercial advantage to the organisation
Nurtures the Procurement relationship with senior partners in the organisation
Key skills:
Detailed Procurement experience gained across international imports
Specific expertise in building relationships and driving value from ocean freight, airfreight and international road freight suppliers
Strong category knowledge across international logistics with a particular focus on retail or FMCG
Highly-developed people engagement and influencing skills at all levels in an organisation – we want you to influence from ‘shop floor’ to board level
A background in large-scale negotiations covering commercial, service levels, gain shares, fuel mechanics which take into account specific market dynamics of international freight
Expertise in commercial models and legal contracts including SLA’s/remedies across the logistics category
Track record of implementing and delivering SRM process across a business
