Job Description

This role is an excellent opportunity to join the Patient Services Team and develop a reception role across all Outpatients Areas.

The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

To provide a high quality customer focussed service to patients attending the Outpatients Departments, by welcoming patients to clinic, booking patients in and by arranging further arrangements as necessary, to support the smooth running of clinics.

To provide a consistent approach across the Trust, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) will describe how the function of this role will be carried out, along with the timescales that will be adhered to.

To receive all patients attending for an outpatients appointment in a friendly and professional manner.

To deal with patient enquiries/problems face-to-face and on the telephone.

Maintain good relationships with patients and other members of staff, ensuring a high degree of confidentiality and integrity at all times.

Make follow up appointments for patients in line with the agreed protocols.

Ensure all clinics are reconciled within 24 hours..

Be an active team member with joint responsibilities for providing a high quality service and working closely with colleagues, clinicians, nursing team and volunteers.
