Your Challenge

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team in PoGo. This role is Home-based with regular travel across Scotland and North of England for site inspections.

SWARCO Smart Charging Ltd is the Electric Vehicle Charging division of SWARCO UK, a leader in the provision of next generation of Intelligent Traffic Systems and Solutions for the Traffic Management, Parking and E-Mobility sectors. This role will be operating within the PoGo Charge business unit, which is SWARCO’s CPO (Charge Point Operator) public facing brand within the CPO market.

We are looking to add a Project Manager to our Investments project delivery team, responsible for the construction of our EV charging sites. We already have a Pre-Construction team who design, develop and de-risk each site before handing it over to the Project Manager to kick off construction, who will then manage the site all the way through to its Go Live date and ultimate handover to the operations team. This is a fast paced role, with multiple sites being project managed concurrently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Be aware of all hardware requirements and ensure orders have been placed in advance
  • Conduct kick-off meetings with the subcontractor
  • Ensure DNO design approvals are progressed in a timely manner after appointment of ICP
  • Create and update program of works to realistic timescales
  • Forecast Go Live dates with revisions as needed
  • Ensure cost control
  • Frequently communicate with, and manage the subcontractors for progress tracking
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
  • Ensure all work is conducted with full regard to Health and Safety of our staff and subcontractors and the general public
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure a quality installation is provided including completion of on-site audits
  • Assist in compilation of handover packs

Your Profile

  • Based in Scotland
  • At least 5 years’ project management experience
  • Construction management experience
  • Experience of, or good understanding of the requirements for EV projects
  • SMSTS Qualified
  • Proven track record in Project Management / Construction Management
  • Proven track record working under CDM 2015 Regulation / reviewing RAMS, ideally across different CDM Roles (Client, Principal Designer, Principal Contractor)
  • Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing at all levels in the organisation
  • Able to work under pressure and make important decisions
  • Excellent administration and co-ordination skills
  • Strong personal influencing & communication skills
  • Strong motivation to achieve with a well-organised and structured approach to project management
  • Ability to work autonomously but aware of when to escalate situations
  • Team player and continuous learning approach. This team is evolving and growing very rapidly, and you will likely need to adapt your ways of working as a result.

  • Civils experience (advantageous)
