Would you like to work on the foundational systems that connect Amazon's selling partners to customers and ensure that the products customers want to buy are available on Amazon?

Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) builds the systems that host and run the world’s largest e-Commerce products catalog - it powers the online buying experience for customers worldwide so they can find, discover and buy anything they want. Within ASCS, the Selection Contribution Platform (SCP) provides the data storage, processing pipeline, and tools for managing selection at Amazon that drives the Amazon flywheel.

As a member of SCP, you will play a key role in building Amazon’s business across the world.

Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and talented Principal Technical Program Manager who loves to work across (a) product management, (b) project management, and (c) software development! We’re looking for someone who innovates, loves solving hard problems, and never takes no for an answer. Our engineers are some of the best in the industry, who work hard, have fun and make history.

As a Principal TPM, you will be defining the product vision and roadmap for consumer privacy across ASCS. You will take on interesting challenges everyday. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. You will also take the roadmap forward into incremental implementation phases, bring teams across organizations together, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You will need to be comfortable pushing back and challenging the status-quo.

Key job responsibilities
  • Thinking big and working with Senior leadership, business stakeholders and engineering teams to define privacy vision, strategy and requirements.
  • Delivering results by driving execution of programs spanning multiple organizations from design to rollout.
  • Earning trust through regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control.
  • Owning all metrics around initiative goals you will define. We make decisions based on data.
  • Being resourceful and creative to overcome obstacles and turn challenges into opportunities.

  • An MBA or Masters in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • Have a background in backend development and large distributed systems.
  • Experience with managing an agile development process.
