About the job

Job summary

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of UK citizens?

Do you have an interest in data?

Do you want to help drive the improvement of data quality across DWP to enable excellent services to be delivered to citizens?

DWP is increasingly recognising the value of data as a strategic asset for DWP and government. Come and join the Office of the Chief Data Officer to support and enable this strategic shift.

You will champion data quality and deliver targeted data quality intervention. Through collaboration with colleagues across DWP, you will define fitness for purpose for critical data sets, assess the quality of source data, carry out root cause analysis and initiate the remediation needed to improve the quality of data.

As part of the Data Quality Centre of Excellence you will provide support to resolve data quality risks/issues and help build a data quality community across DWP.

The posts will work under the umbrella of the Data Quality Centre of Excellence within the Office of the Chief Data Office. There are a range of positions from providing advice and guidance right through to being part of targeted intervention teams. We provide support right across DWP and so the posts could be allocated into any business area within DWP. For example, we already have teams working in Universal Credit and Retirement Services.

Flexibility is needed as deployment will be aligned to key business priorities.

You will be required to work a minimum of 40% of your time from the office.

Job description

  • Provide support and mentoring to colleagues across the team and the wider Office of the Chief Data Officer.
  • Prioritisation and management of data quality risks/issues.

The senior (G7) roles will involve line management duties.
