SF Recruitment are working with a Tech / Telecoms business based in Birmingham who are looking for a Business Development Manager to work on Public Sector sales

Base: £40,000 - £50,000 + £5.7K Car (c£100K OTE)

Hybrid working

Role Overview:

The role of Public Sector BDM will be to secure new clients for the business by sourcing new sales opportunities from within a target market, sector or region and winning that business. This will be across the full portfolio of products ranging from Mobile, Fixed Line, WAN, Connectivity through to Hosted Voice, UC, Managed Services and Security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a 'New Business’ Gross Profit target, broken down quarterly and monthly.
  • Achieve pre-set KPI`s geared towards generating opportunities.
  • Devise a strategy for targeting your agreed market, sector or region.
  • Work with the Bid Manager on specific Framework tenders and requests
  • Work with internal marketing, telemarketing and product specialist teams to compile compelling propositions that address prospect need within defined target areas.
  • High contact of target market via different means to create frequent new appointments.
  • Build a strong pipeline of at least 3:1 ratio opportunity against target.
  • Pro-actively promote all products and services
  • Follow up on referrals and any new leads provided.
  • To liaise with internal staff to ensure new business is provisioned correctly.
  • Engage sales product specialists and pre-sales within Intercity to support opportunities.
  • Be flexible and willing to develop product and wider market knowledge.
  • Update the CRM system with all activity and complete other ad hoc reports on request.
  • Provide regular, accurate sales forecasts.
  • Complete and present opportunity plans internally at director level.
  • Identify key decision makers and buying process within prospects, ensuring that where required director level engagement is identified.
  • Complete strong compelling written proposals that clearly define how Intercity add value.
  • Present solutions and summary of proposals to clients.
  • Ensure the company is positively represented at all times.

Experience:

  • At least four years’ experience of winning new business within the Communications Technology Industry.
  • Possess demonstrable experience of managing a complete sales cycle from opportunity creation to completing a sale within the public sector environment.
  • Experience of working within the public sector procurement legislations.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving new business targets.
  • Be confident in conversing with and presenting to senior management and directors.
