We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Staff member to join a growing team in Portland, Oregon. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, close-knit environment while contributing to the success of a dynamic public accounting firm. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in tax preparation and compliance, along with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex tax returns, including individual, partnership, and consolidated filings.

• Ensure accurate compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• Manage and oversee an established book of business, providing high-quality service to clients.

• Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.

• Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide informed guidance.

• Assist with estate tax planning and preparation to meet client needs.

• Provide mentorship and support to entry-level staff, fostering a positive team environment.

• Analyze financial data to identify potential tax savings and strategies for clients.

• Communicate effectively with clients to address tax-related inquiries and provide solutions.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.

• Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax preparation and compliance.
• Proficiency in preparing complex and consolidated tax returns across various categories.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Experience with estate tax planning and preparation.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage an established book of business.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a tight-knit team.
• Positive attitude and commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Ability to stay current with changes in tax laws and apply them appropriately.
