Survey Party Chief – Columbia, SC

Salary: $80,000 – $140,000

We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join a well-established and growing General Contractor based in Columbia, SC. This is an exciting opportunity for a surveying professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to a variety of large-scale projects across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage field survey crews on active construction sites.
• Oversee daily survey operations including layout, topographic, boundary, and as-built surveys.
• Ensure accuracy and quality of survey data collection and documentation.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment (GPS, total stations, levels, data collectors, etc.).
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to support construction activities.
• Train and mentor junior survey team members.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and project requirements.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of survey experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of survey principles, construction layout, and data collection methods.
• Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations, and survey software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
