After this period, the job will be released to all job seekers./ppstrongJob Summary:/strong Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Safety and Security Department to provide maximum safety and security for students, staff, center property and the surrounding community./ppstrongDuties/Responsibilities:/strong/pulliAdheres to all Department of Labor Policy Requirement Handbook and Career Systems Development policies and procedures, and the Center Operating Procedures./liliPrepares reports and forms and documents in CIS case notes and files observations of students behavior, performance, notable information or events, and progress towards achieving goals and objectives./liliMaintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed./liliEnforces all laws, rules and regulations. Enforces the Zero Tolerance Policy and reports violations immediately to supervisor and/or duty officer./liliActs as the Security supervisor on shift./liliPatrols assigned areas and remains alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violators, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions./liliAids and assists visitors, students, and staff./liliPerforms building security and safety checks and inspections./liliEscorts students as directed to dorms, security, may monitor students involved in discipline incidents, and may pack and transport students./liliInvestigate vehicular accidents at the center and completes vehicle accident reports./liliPrepares written accident reports involving students, staff, and visitors./liliEnforces center pass policy./lipstrongRequirements:/strong/ppstrongMinimum:/strong High school graduate or equivalent. Two years work-related experience. May require a Guard Card or ability to obtain a Guard Card per State requirements./ppstrongPreferred:/strong Associates degree or bachelors degree in criminal justice or closely related field. Safety Certifications, law enforcement experience. Extensive experience./ppstrongKnowledge:/strong Knowledge of investigative techniques. Knowledge of riot and crowd control techniques. Knowledge of law enforcement procedures. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid State drivers license. Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certificates. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to obtain state Security officer certification within 90 days of hire./p/ul/div
