Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant - The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods


Southwoods Health is currently has an opening for a full-time and part-time Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to work at The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods in Boardman, Ohio. Under general direction, the Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant assists with administering anesthetics and/or monitors the anesthetized patient during surgical and radiological procedures.

Essential Duties:

• Evaluates the patient pre-operatively by interviewing and examining the patient, assesses data, selects appropriate anesthetic.
• Administers anesthetics in accordance with clinical privileges delineated and any conditions or restrictions imposed thereof.
• Monitors, interprets, and evaluates information derived from monitors intraoperatively on the patient of any age group and physical status; protects patient life functions and vital organs.
• Performs medical non-surgical procedures, i.e. IV insertion, intubation, hemodynamic and electrolyte balance, airway management in routine and acute medical situations.
• Monitors the patient post-operatively and performs evaluation of the patient.
• Prepares drugs; maintains anesthesia equipment to keep in safe operating condition.
• Maintains accounting of controlled substances.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification
• AHA PALS certification preferred

Full-time and part-time available. Monday-Friday, no evenings or weekends.
