Job description
We are looking for a Team Leader to fill this post permanently. You will be responsible for leading a predominantly field/home based operational team and motivating them to deliver results that fulfil Area’s Monitoring outcomes.

You will plan, monitor and control team resources in order to maximise the use of funds and people. You will actively lead and support ten team members. You will establish and maintain good relationships with internal Water Resources, Water Quality and Flood and Coastal Risk Management clients in order to comprehensively understand their activities and needs.
The team
Based in Yorkshire Area, the team undertakes data gathering and asset maintenance in support of WR, WQ and FCRM. The team delivers a vital service that underpins much of the Environment Agency’s work on the design, construction and management of flood protection assets
Experience/skills required
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 GCSE level passes or equivalent including English, be IT literate and have a sound background in hydrometry and telemetry techniques. Key attributes will be self-motivation, decisiveness and the ability to meet deadlines.

The role will provide an opportunity to the applicant to develop their leadership skills and will involve close liaison with internal clients and the other two hydrometry and telemetry Team Leaders.
Contact and additional information
The post will be based in Yorkshire with occasional scheduled travel across the whole of Yorkshire. As a result, the post requires a full UK driving licence.
