WHAT TO EXPECT

Working with our best in class technology teams in Manchester you will be part of the full lifecycle: designing, building and running a greenfield API and Events platform. You'll help us to power the revolution through developer-centric services. Establishing our Experience, Core and Process APIs, you will ave the freedom to explore new technology and innovate with protocols and asynchronous architectures in order to solve complex problems.

You'll learn and grow along the way, and we'll give you the tools, tactics and career progression to be successful in our DevOps environment. This role is on our architecture pathway and strong design and communication skills are key to the role.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Gain unique insights into how our platform is being used and design optimisations and features to support our users

• Design, prototype and guide the development team on building APIs using open standards (AsyncAPI, OpenAPI spec)

• Understand our data, process and APIs enabling you to answer questions from internal and external engineers utilising our products

• Take technical ownership of a specific domain in our API platform (/customer, /orders etc.) and explore how we integrate and expose that through, experience, process and system APIs.

• Federate our platform standards allowing other teams to deploy APIs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Essential:

• A background as Senior Software Engineer, or similar role

• Working knowledge of software engineering and architecture patterns, with the ability to understand how a wide variety of technologies and

• systems interact with each other

• Working knowledge of protocols and standards such as REST, GQL, GPRC

• Understand and have practical experience of working with the Open API Spec

• Technical proficiency in a programming language such as GoLang, Java etc.

• We especially welcome people with Event Driven Architecture & Streaming experience. Specifically Kafka & Flink.
