It's an exciting time to join the Retail Pricing team here at AXA. This is a fast-paced environment where frequent changes in the competitive landscape, data availability and modelling methods present an ongoing challenge to maintain and improve AXA's standing in Direct and Intermediated Motor Insurance markets. Changes we implement are measurable very quickly so our team's contribution is recognisable - equally we have accountability for our proposals! Working with a highly skilled technical team, you will have a passion for modelling, statistics and innovating.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work 40% of your week in our London office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of value adding Price Optimisations, including:
    • Monitor the performance of Optimisation
    • Design, maintenance and improvement of optimisation structures to improve business outcomes in line with stakeholder objectives
    • End to end project ownership and management of supporting analysts
  • Investigate customers' responses to price variations via impact analysis and scenario modelling
  • Understand and improve customer lifetime value outcomes
  • Competitor Analysis and understand Market activity
  • Support on new deals, offers and product testing
  • Tune up trading performance
  • Represent Pricing in trading committees through supporting key stakeholders and being clear on P&L targets
  • Peer review of own and others work
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues
  • Data reconciliation ensuring thorough process documentation

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in a numerical discipline or evidence of equivalent proficiency
  • Experience in a related Insurance Pricing role is strongly preferred
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and that of a small project team
  • Data Science skills and experience of machine learning algorithms using open-source statistical packages, R and Python preferable
  • Strong competency with SAS or SQL
  • Commercial awareness and ability to understand impact of trading decisions
  • Optimisation, Emblem & Radar or similar pricing software experience is desirable
