We are the national body for careers education in England, delivering support to schools and colleges to deliver modern, 21st-century careers education.
The Careers & Enterprise Company is a great place to work. We operate within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. We are brought together by one thing: our passion to ensure young people get the best possible start in life and are supported to find their best next step.
Do you want to be part of a mission-driven team focused on transforming young people’s lives? If so, we’d love to hear from you!
Role Summary
The Programme Manager role is a key component of a CEC wide initiative to ensure that national objectives and strategies are aligned across the business and implemented effectively and consistently across our Career Hubs infrastructure. The role will sit within a newly formed function of the Network and Employers team and will sit alongside a further Programme Manager and report into the Senior Manager - Programmes.
The Programmes function, and this role, will be grounded in CEC’s 5 Strategic Priorities:
Priority 1: Raise the quality of careers provision in schools and colleges against the Gatsby Benchmarks through training for the education workforce, targeted support and quality assurance.
Priority 2: Provide more high-quality experiences with employers for students and teachers – with a focus on current areas of need.
Priority 3: Amplify apprenticeships, technical and vocational routes –including by supporting the implementation of the Provider Access Legislation (PAL)
Priority 4: Target interventions for economically disadvantaged young people (Free School Meals (FSM)) those who face barriers.
Priority 5: Connect careers provision in schools and colleges to the needs of local economies.
The role will be instrumental in helping to translate national initiatives and policy aligned with our strategic priorities into operational programmes delivered through our Network of Career Hubs. By its nature the role will hold a mixed portfolio of priorities and programmes that will change and flex over time.
Our organisation has a privileged opportunity to make a difference to the lives of millions of young people, helping to inspire and prepare them for the fast-changing world of work, and we want you to help us make it happen.
