Senior / Principal Public Health Design Engineer

My client are a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy firm that provides services in civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and building services engineering. With offices across the UK, they offer innovative and sustainable solutions to clients in various sectors, including healthcare, education, residential, commercial, and industrial.
As a Senior/Principal Public Health Design Engineer at their growing London office, your responsibilities would include:
- Leading the design and coordination of public health systems for buildings, such as water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians
- Conducting site surveys and inspections to gather data and assess existing systems
- Preparing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Liaising with clients, architects, and other design team members to ensure that designs meet client requirements and are coordinated with other disciplines
- Ensuring that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
- Managing projects from inception to completion, including budget control, risk management, and project delivery.
You would work on a range of projects, from small-scale refurbishments to large new-build developments. Examples of recent projects undertaken include:
- The design of the public health systems for a new healthcare facility, including a water treatment plant, medical gases, and a drainage system
- The refurbishment of an existing office building, including the upgrade of the water supply and drainage systems to meet current regulations
- The design of the public health systems for a new mixed-use development, including rainwater harvesting and sustainable drainage systems.
