Packing Manager - Near Dorchester - £43000

My client, a successful and award winning food manufacturing company, is looking to recruit an Packing manager for their site near Dorchester. The successful Packing Manager will report directly into the site Production Manager and be responsible for a team of Production supervisors, Line leaders and packing operatives.

The successful Food Packing manager will be working Monday to Friday Days

Role:

• Supported by the Production Manager, managing the Cut and Pack teams to deliver all customer service and quality requirements - evaluating and implementing training to comply with: Company Policies, Working Regulations, Health and Safety Regulations, Technical and Quality Control Procedures.
• Drive and manage production schedules.
• Management of temporary agency labour to match peak production demand at optimum costs in each department.
• Implementation of Lean & Continuous Improvement systems in each department with support from the Production Manager and Continuous Improvement Facilitator.

Key skills required for the role will include:

• At least 2 years working in a BRC certified manufacturing environment,
• The successful candidate will have Food Hygiene Level 3, HACCP qualifications, or be prepared to work towards them.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to influence and build positive relationships whilst delivering change.
• Ability to work across function and business units to achieve common goals and deliver the business plan.
• Ability to 'coach & train' supervisors and operators.
• LEAN and CI knowledge helpful

The salary on offer for this role is £43,000 for a 43.75 hour week, 29 days annual leave rising to 31, pension (5% ee's and 5% er's,) Group Life Cover of 2 x annual salary, bike to work scheme and staff discount.

This role is commutable from Dorchester, Weymouth, Blandford Forum, Shepton Mallet, Poole, Yeovil, Chard, Bridport and may suit a candidate that has previously worked as a Food production manager, Shift production manager
