The Big House is an eight bedded short break home for children with significant intellectual disabilities and behaviours that challenge. We are based in the village of Edwinstowe, next door to Sherwood Forest in a purpose built home that opened in 2016. We are looking for inspirational individuals who have the right skills, values and knowledge to work with the most vulnerable service children, meeting their physical, emotional, cultural and health care needs. Are you motivated, caring and committed to meeting the needs of the children you care for as well as having the ability and resilience to work in what can be a very physically and emotionally challenging environment? You must have experience of working with children and young people within a residential setting.

We currently have a vacancy for the full-time post of residential social care worker. The post involves working shifts which include weekends and bank holidays. The shifts are either 7am-2.30pm or 2-10pm of a rota basis, working two weekends out of three. We also offer enhanced pay for shift work. You will also get a generous holiday entitlement above statutory requirements, full induction including enrolment on a relevant Level 3 qualification if one is not already held.
