Group Finance Manager

Salary: £33,000.00 - £40,000.00 pro rata

Holidays: 5.6 weeks pro rata

Working Hours: 20 hours per week

The ideal candidate:

We are looking for a highly analytical, focussed and conscientious Group Finance Manager to work across four of our businesses. This is a brand-new role that has been created to support the growing needs of our rapidly growing group of companies which consists of:

• The Wood Floor Company – suppliers and installers of luxury wood flooring to domestic homeowners
• Cockerill & Co – Offering Training, Mentoring & Consultancy to flooring professionals nationwide
• Truth Digital – Providing Digital Media & Marketing services to flooring businesses nationwide
• Cockerill Property Investments – Own property management and leasing

The successful candidate must have a proven track record with managing multiple businesses at the same time and exceptional knowledge and understanding of Xero accounting software. Having experience with Gocardless, Stripe, Shopify & Paypal is not essential but would be an advantage.

Whilst this role is currently offered on a part time basis there is likely to be a future requirement to increase this position to full time or create a secondary shared role.

Typical responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

• Acting as the first point of contact for all telephone and email finance related enquiries
• Managing client and supplier accounts in an accurate and timely manner
• Developing and implementing new financial administrative systems where necessary
• Attending meetings and taking minutes as appropriate
• Producing accurate financial and management reports: Month & Quarter end reconciliations, cashflow, balance sheet reviews
• Matching supplier invoices to statements and purchase orders to invoices.
• Inputting accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy
• Ensuring swift payment of supplier invoices and timely receipt of client’s invoices.
• Issuing receipts for payments and oversee payment schedules with clients.
• Producing accurate forecasting
• Assist external chartered accountant with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns and annual accounts where required.

Qualifications and training required:

• AAT or similar qualification is necessary.
• Experience of using Xero is essential.
• Experience of working within a finance department is necessary.
• Experience of using Sage Payroll, Sage Accounts & Quickbooks is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a construction, training and/or digital industry is preferred.
