Job Description


We are looking for a Qualified/part-qualified Accountant with several years of PQE. This is a great opportunity for someone to join our finance department and be a part of the Group Finance Team.

You will be supporting the monthly financial and management reporting for the Group, including reporting to our principal shareholder, statutory reporting and other activities to drive continuous improvement in current processes, with the aim of improving quality and timeliness of reporting.

This opportunity offers the ability to work from home twice weekly.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Reporting to principal shareholder:

  • Managing the collation, production and analysis of a range of monthly and quarterly financial reports for principal shareholder, liaising with stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting the production of presentations for Quarterly Strategic Business Meetings
  • Responding to ad hoc financial information requests from the principal shareholder.

Statutory reporting:

  • Supporting the production of The Rank Group Plc consolidated interim and full-year annual reports
  • Completing a range of the Group’s subsidiary financial statements
  • Liaising with the Group’s auditors in respect of the above processes

Other responsibilities:

  • Month-end management reporting
  • Ad hoc project work to support other team members
  • Provide technical accounting support such as but not limited to IFRS 16 Leases, IFRS 2 Share based payment and IAS 36 Impairment of assets
  • Helping to drive improvement in current processes with aim of improving quality and timeliness of reporting

Qualifications
  • Qualified/part-qualified accountant: ACCA\ACA\CIMA with several years PQE preferably from audit background
  • Good system knowledge, ideally Dynamics 365, and experience of Jedox consolidation systems
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience of macros
  • A desire to build the commercial knowledge which support the ability to understand and interpret the numbers, drawing upon the candidate’s technical financial skills.
  • A keenness to learn and understand the business and to add value by using financial analysis to assist in driving performance.
