About us
The Shared Regulatory Service (SRS) is a partnership between Bridgend Council, Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council to deliver the Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Licensing functions.
This is a new and developing role working for Stop Loan Sharks Wales (The Wales Illegal Money Lending Unit) to develop and strengthen their digital marketing capability and strategy. The successful candidate will undertake a level 3 Digital Marketing qualification, alongside working on digital and social media functions for the Unit.
About the role
Pay Details: National Minimum Wage (age dependent)
Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours flexible working (part time/job share applications will be considered)
Main Place of Work: Main base in Cardiff. Bridgend/Cardiff/Vale of Glamorgan office locations and home working available.
Temporary 18 month contract to complete apprenticeship.
Description
Aimed at those who are employed or have experience of a marketing role and/or have experience of the digital marketing sector. The qualification will equip you with the skills to use digital media to attract and engage with current and potential customers through various methods such as online advertising, email marketing and SEO.

Duties will include:
- To obtain a sound understanding of digital marketing in a regulatory and business environment
- Assist and take a lead in maintaining and building upon existing presence on social media platforms, including emerging platforms and trends, by creating social media content
- Assist with the promotion of Stop Loan sharks Wales through social media, liaison with partner agencies and contributing to news articles
- Assist with media enquiries and building relationships with journalists
- To take a lead on other matters such as drafting press releases, managing attendance of press and recording court cases
- Researching topics to write blogs, influencer blogs and website content
- Use digital marketing metrics and analytics to prioritise and optimise messaging and provide reports on the performance of campaigns
- Social media strategy & scheduling – to contribute to and assist with planning, designing and scheduling media campaigns
- Manage social media campaigns & develop ideas to better engage users using platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube etc
About you
You will need :
- Sound understanding of the use of digital and social media platforms
- Proven delivery of a project whether educational or vocational
- Designing and delivering plans and measuring results
- A high standard of communication skills both written and oral
- Able to work alone or as part of a team as the need dictates
- The ability to handle competing priorities and a challenging workload
- Able to use own initiative
- Competent ICT user
- Educated to GCSE/’O’ level standard or equivalent in English and Maths
- Strong commitment to personal development
- The ability to drive / travel throughout, Bridgend / Cardiff / Vale or between locations if appropriate.
- The ability to work outside normal office hours from time to time, to meet the needs of the service
- Welsh Speaker / learner highly desirable
