Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Analyst to join our online division, this is to cover a 9 month maternity period. As a Commercial Finance Analyst you will report to the Commercial Finance Manager with responsibilities for producing reporting and analysis of performance such as trial monitoring, updating business cases and seasonal reporting for our cardfactory Online and Getting Personal online stores.

You will collaborate with the online commercial teams, providing analysis and support for trading decisions. To be successful in this role you will need to be methodical with strong analytical and commercial skills.

We offer smart working - allowing the successful candidate the opportunity to work 1 - 2 days per week from our Wakefield office, great links to the MI and free onsite parking plus the opportunity to work from home.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities in the role include:

  • Design and maintain reporting to monitor KPIs such as sales, margin and conversion in Excel/Power BI, agreeing requirements with stakeholders
  • Collate budgets and forecasts, working with Commercial team to capture and review inputs, challenging errors and inconsistencies
  • Improve and maintain forecast and analytical models.
  • Monitor and analyse performance of initiatives such as trials and promotions, working cross functionally to understand commercial performance
  • Support Finance Business Partner with preparing financial reviews and analysis for decision making
  • Provide analytical support for the weekly Trading meetings, preparing analysis and presenting insightful results
  • At month end you will help the Management Accounts team understand sales and margin performance
The Ideal Candidate

About You

Must Have:

  • Relevant demonstrable experience from within a similar role
  • Advanced analytical and excel skills
  • Proactive, natural curiosity to investigate and understand the so what
  • Attention to detail and commercial judgement to review work
  • Experience of SAP and/or Power BI is advantageous
  • Experience in dynamic, fast-paced environment

Be great to also have:

  • Experience of working in retail or a similar industry (but not essential)
  • Working towards a post grad accounting qualification (would be advantageous)
