London Borough of Croydon’s Capital Delivery for Homes and Schools Team is responsible for the delivery of the Councils community schools capital expansion and maintenance programme, and a wide range of planned maintenance and major improvements to the Council’s housing stock and schools. The team manage a large capital programme from inception to completion, delivering projects on budget, on programme and to a high standard of quality.
As part of the Capital Delivery for Homes and Schools Team, the Assistant Project Manager will be reporting to the Education Programme Manager. They will be responsible for supporting the team on managing the delivery of projects and ensuring they are compliant in line with statutory obligations.
The post holder will also support the team to provide effective and efficient contract management of our contractors and provide project/administrative support for the construction projects for current and future works programme Council Tenants and Schools, ensuring value for money and performance against targets and ensuring the projects are delivered on time and within the allocated funding envelope.
The post holder will need to demonstrate a pro-active and flexible approach to work including the ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision, to work as part of a team, to problem solve, have excellent interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills and able to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
